Luca M. Aiello

Luca M. Aiello

Luca Maria Aiello received his received their Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Doctoral School of Sciences and Innovative Technologies, Computer Science Programme, University of Turin. His dissertation’s title was “Analysis, prediction and privacy-aware design of social media and online search”. During his Ph.D. training, he has been a visiting scholar at CNetS of Indiana University and he has collaborated with Yahoo! Labs California in a project on user profiling. He is currently a research scientist at Yahoo! Research Barcelona, in the Social Media Engagement team.

 

 

 

Alessandro Basso

Alessandro Basso, PhD, is currently Software Engineer at Emporos Systems Corporation, Charlotte (NC, USA). He has been Research Assistant in our department, collaborating with us on recommendation systems issues, until 2010.

 

 

 

 


Martina Deplano

Martina Deplano, PhD, started her PhD program with our group in 2011, after a master degree in “Communication in the Information Society”. Her research interests are User Experience, Computational Social Science, Data Visualization, Human-Computer Interaction and Interaction Design.

 

 

 

 

 

Marco Milanesio

Marco Milanesio, PhD, is currently Research Engineer at Eurecom, Sophia Antipolis, France. He received his PhD in 2009, under the supervision of Prof. Ruffo, and he has been Research Assistant in our group until 2011.

 

 

 

 

 

André Panisson

André Panisson

André Panisson received a MSc in Computer Science at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) in 2007, under the supervision of Lisandro Granville. He received his received their Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Doctoral School of Sciences and Innovative Technologies, Computer Science Programme, University of Turin. His dissertation’s title was “Selective Information Dissemination in Mobile Computing”. During his Ph.D. training, he received also a Google Summer of Code grant  to develop a plug-in for the Gephi network analysis tool. He is currently a researcher at the Institute for Scientific Interchange (ISI) in Turin, Italy.

 

Salvatore Spoto

Salvatore Spoto

Salvatore Spoto was born in Andria, Itlay in 1976.
He received his Laurea degree in Computer Science from the University of Catania, in 2007, and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Torino in 2011.
He currently is project based researcher at University of Torino, Computer Science Department.
His research interests include computer-graphicscomputer-visionpeer-to-peer systems and communication networks.

 

 

Emilio Sulis 

Emilio Sulis is a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science of the University of Turin. He graduated in Sociology in 2002 and then worked in social research, teaching and planning with his company QRS. He developed a computational social simulation based on real data and demographic forecasts, thanks to a scholarship Lagrange – CRT. His main research interests are social network analysis and social simulations
