“Visualizing structural balance in signed networks” to be presented in Complex Networks 2019, in Lisbon

Our paper “Visualizing structural balance in signed networks” (authors: Edoardo Galimberti, Chiara Madeddu, Francesco Bonchi, Giancarlo Ruffo) has been accepted to be presented at the Complex Networks conference that will be held in Lisbon next december.

To our knowledge this is the first contribution ever that addresses explicitly to problem of visualizing signed networks. Spectral properties of the Laplacian graph have been embedded in the visualization algorithms, and different scales of balance can be easily understood after the application of the layout.

Such a layout will be available soon as a D3.js function, and Gephi/Cytoscape plug-ins.
